Nasrin Mani, M.D., graduated from the Vanderbilt University Ophthalmology Program in 1986. She did her vitreo-retinal surgery fellowship at Doheny Eye Institute and the University of Southern California. She then joined the California Retina Associates. She was an investigator for the use of silicone-oil and perflurocarbon liquid under the FDA protocol for the treatment of complicated vitreo-retinal diseases.

She is married to Dr. Darush Lawrence Mohyi, a gynecologist who specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the San Diego County Medical Society, and the Vitreous Society.
